You have done the hard work of revision. You have a manuscript that is ready to shine. It’s time to prune the trees and clear out the underbrush. In other words, it’s time to make your imagery pop, your dialogue sparkle and your character’s inner world compelling.

In this stylistic edit, I will evaluate:

• Consistency of tone

• Word choice (i.e. strong verbs, specific meaningful details)

• Character interiority

• Dialogue 

• Use of metaphor and simile

• Clarity and flow

I will be looking closely at the work, sentence by sentence, and encouraging you to consider techniques that will develop your unique author voice.

 

Feedback will be in the form of inline comments and an editorial letter with exercises and/or readings to sharpen your skills. 

 

The package also includes a 60-minute Zoom call to discuss the feedback. 

The edit takes 4-8 weeks, depending on my workload.

While I will point out typos that catch my eye, a stylistic edit does

not focus specifically on spelling or grammar.
